Huldras are Scandinavian forest spirits who look completely human. . .until you notice their cow tails, or the gaping holes in their backs. Then the illusion is broken and they can be seen for what they are: wild untamed creatures, secretive guardians of the woods. They are generally kind to humans if their forests are treated with respect, minding charcoal kilns and leading fishermen to the best fishing spots. Don't disrespect them or their forests though…Just don't.
